Frame Size:

The frame size of a bike is measured  by the length of the frame’s seat tube. Frames can be measured along the seat tube in one of two ways, center to top or center-to-center. Center to top measures the distance from the center of the bottom bracket to the top of the top tube, whereas center to center measures from the center of the bottom bracket to the center of the top tube. Since center to top measures to a point higher on the frame, a frame measuring 55cm center to top would also measure roughly 53.5–54cm C-C, a difference of 1–1.5cm .  Similarly, a frame measuring 19” center to top would also measure roughly 18”-18.5” center to center, a difference of 1/2” to 3/4”.  See below for a full diagram of the common measurements found in bike sizing.
